Stress Buster

Well folks,

It has been a while since the last post, but that's only because we have MOVED IN!!

The place is great, and we are thoroughly enjoying it, except for the unpacking.

April 24th,

We had our PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) on the 19th. We looked high, low, and everywhere in between. Most of the items we noted were relatively minor cosmetic issues. The only more "major" things to note were a chipped kitchen cupboard door, some holes they forgot to patch when they installed the upper railing, and they didn't finish the media niche. The wood floor is fairly different than the sample we saw at the decor centre, so we are trying to see if they will change it, but we aren't counting on that happening.

Move in day is the 2nd, and it can't come soon enough!

April 14th

18 days 'til closing!!!

We're just about there. We just need quarter rounds where the wood flooring is and carpeting upstairs. It looks like they pay a fair amount of attention to detail. You can see all the yellow marks in the photos. Those are the repair patches that they have done. All they need to do is sand and repaint, then we're done. We have the PDI (pre-delivery inspection) on Thursday. Hopefully there won't be too many "faults", and we'll be able to move in as scheduled.

April 8th

The kitchen cupboards are in as well as the vanities and sinks. They have also finished the painting. The only things we need now are hardwood, carpets and the bannister to be stained (and the keys)!!!

March 31st

We're approaching the finish line - finally.

The sills and moldings are done. We have a nifty column by the front door, and the tiling is indeed completed. They have also installed the stair railings, and we can't wait to see what they'll look like when they are stained.

March 11th-25th

We're getting there...

March 17th

They started priming, the textured ceilings are done, fixtures are in (see comment on photo), and the smooth ceiling in the kitchen has the first coat. They have also finished the base for the tiles.

The downstairs tiling has been completed, and I could hear them working away upstairs. What will next weekend bring?
